Distinguished Speaker Series: Danielle Leong

Bloomberg’s Distinguished Engineers Speaker Series recently hosted Danielle Leong of Consensual Software (and engineering manager for GitHub’s Community & Safety team). While visiting Bloomberg Global Headquarters in New York City on Tuesday, June 19, Danielle gave a talk to Bloomberg’s engineers entitled “Consensual software: Prioritizing user trust and safety beyond GDPR compliance.” She explained how developers should apply a “consent filter” to product decisions to create a safer user experience and help protect their most vulnerable users from harm in today’s world, where the culture of oversharing has resulted in safety problems — both online and offline.
