Bloomberg a Proud Sponsor at Strata + Hadoop World Conference 2014

October 03, 2014

Bloomberg is the world’s premier provider of data and analytics to the financial industry, and data is at the core of everything the company does. Fittingly, the company is a proud sponsor this year of the Strata + Hadoop World conference in New York from October 15-17th. The conference is the largest of its kind and brings together over 3,000 data scientists, developers, and business and technology leaders.  “Big Data” techniques allowing many machines to work together efficiently and cost effectively form the foundation on which many systems of the future will be built, and we welcome those helping to move the industry forward.

Bloomberg and its 3,500 technologists have a long history of developing data platforms for high performance interactive analytics over the last 30 years, and the company has been involved with the data community for many years with a number of initiatives to improve the performance and reliability of underlying components such as HBase and SQLite. We will also be hosting both the Spark Committer Night and the PyData NYC – Inaugural Meetup on premises at 731 Lexington Avenue at 7:00 PM on October 15th, with refreshments beforehand at 6:30. You can reserve a place directly with Spark-NYC or Py Data.

We would also like to invite conference attendees to enjoy our hospitality at our sponsored “Data after Dark” events on Thursday, October 16th from 8:00 -11:00 P.M. at Bourbon Street and Southern Hospitality in New York City’s Hells Kitchen neighborhood. We hope you can join us!
